DIY: procure a lovely framed piece of art at a yard sale or antique market (keep in mind,  you're buying for the frame, not for the actual artwork). spray paint frame to desired finish. let dry. seriously, i know it's tempting, but let it dry. apply three coats of chalkboard paint (which can be picked up at any old hardware store). enjoy. to be used for quaint directions, a lovely menu display, really any occasion will be a perfect occasion for this gem.
