Swoon: Ruthie Sommers.

"So . . . I am just a decorator. Big staff, great store or small garage office.. I have not changed. I have realized that my goal is not do so many things in this industry that I forget to decorate. I still schlep lampshades in my car and the highlight of my day is going downtown to check on carpentry in a old warehouse. Glamorous this job is not. However, I live and breathe to have a relationship with a home and the people that live in it. My goal is not have people remark at parties that Ruthie designed the most amazing aubergine lacquered room. But it is to hear that they were treated carefully, honestly and creatively. And that . . . is all I need." A KD LOVES!

The Many Faces Of: Mason Jars.

HOW TO GET THIS LOVELY HERB DISPLAY:

UN: Space mason jars evenly on wooden board, and mark placement with a pencil in order to design and measure around.

DUEX: Tape off rectangles on board, and paint with chalkboard paint as pictured above. This way, you can switch out herbs and change their labels accordingly.

TROIS: Paint pipe clamps gold, and secure to wooden board by hammering a nail through the small holes in the pipe clamp.

QUATRE: On back of board, nail in ring hangers and tie on hanging wire.

CINQ: Plant herbs in mason jars.

SIX: Place mason jars into pipe clamps and tighten with a screwdriver.

SEPT: Nail picture hanger into the wall, and hang your herb display!

Date Night Done Right.

Treat YoSelf

Tip #1

The most important tip I can offer women is to wear a dress or skirt on a first date. For many of us, it's become almost awkward to put these on for an everyday occasion—we feel like we're "too dressed up." But through a man's eyes, a dress or skirt shows off our sexy and feminine side. Don't believe me? Try wearing a dress the next time you go out at night. You will notice a big difference in the reactions you get from men.

Tip #2

Wear a stunning pair of heels. I realize your back, knees and toes may not thank you, but with ballerina flats and riding boots overwhelming the shoe racks, I must make this point. You will look and feel more feminine the second you slip them on. Plus, heels flatter your lower half—something your date will definitely notice. Make sure to find a pair that are comfortable to walk in, preferably with an open toe and a slight platform for the perfect effect.

Tip #3

Choose color! Professional women love to dress in black, brown and grey because these colors are understated and slimming. But men aren't looking for a boardroom buddy on a first date! They're not hiring you, and this isn't a job interview. They're searching for a feminine compliment to their masculine energy—someone they can treat like a lady so they can feel like a man. Pastels may not be a good part of a decorating plan, but they'll do a lot for your feminine look. Turquoise and coral seem to be particular favorites for many men, but choose a color that looks best with your complexion.

Tip #4

Men could care less about labels. In fact, if you're dripping head to toe in Prada or Gucci, it's likely to even be a turn-off. For instance, once at a charity event at the Playboy Mansion, I witnessed a group of men walk away from beautiful women who kept talking about how their $600 designer shoes were hurting their feet! Your body is not a hanger to display high fashion, and the only clothes you should be concerned with wearing are the ones that show off your best features.

Tip #5

Show a little skin. No, your breasts should not be flopping out of your top, but men do need to be able to see your physique in order to gauge their attraction. So pick a dress or skirt that shows off your great legs and arms, but isn't so low cut or short that your date will have a hard time concentrating. Women are beautiful in all sizes, and men are attracted to all different types. In fact, the same man is often attracted to different sized women equally, because they possess that killer combination of confidence, kindness and femininity.

LOVES: Chanel Changes.

Chanel It.

I made a pit-stop at my local Chanel counter the other day and it.changed.my.life. Like, seriously. The foundation is life changing, the lipstick is flawless, the eye liner is beyond. Chanel is one of those fabulous pleasures that makes being a girl so dang fun.

DIY: Marbled Minis.

What You'll Need:
Flat bottomed glasswareNail polish in different, complementary colors
Clear nail polish
Plastic cup
Toothpick
Painter's tape

How To Make It:
1. Wrap painter's tape around the bottom of your glass.
2. Fill a plastic cup with water and pour in a few drops of nail polish (make sure you only do one color at a time). The colors will layer up on top of each other.
3. Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together.
4. Dip the bottom of your drinking glass into the nail polish and pull it back out.
5. When your glass has dried completely, go back over the marbled bottom with clear nail polish to keep it from chipping.
