Pitching a tent.
There is just something so romantic, intimate and ornate about using a tent as a venue for a wedding, corporate function or special occasion. Check out this article in the NYT Weddings section (an abso go-to for me on Sunday's-Do normal people get married in NYC?!?) for a few tips about how to make your tent the right setting for your wonderous day or event--whatever it may be--pitching a tent ensures you don't pitch a fit.

I die. Bal des Débutantes.
The grand tradition of debutante balls lives on in Paris thanks to the tireless Ophelie Renouard who is the force by this glamorous event. This year’s le Bal des Debutantes will happen on Saturday, November 26 at the Hotel de Crillon. According to Renouard, "What makes this ball special is that the debs get to wear haute couture dresses directly from the couture houses and jewelry from Adler. “Our first criteria is family excellence. Then the couture aspect is essential because the debs have to be dressed in samples of haute couture gowns. While family background is important, we also look at the girls’ own achievements and potentials. The experience of le Bal is quite a life-changing for them and after le Bal, they become well known for who they are."
Not that I myself agree with Deb balls, tradition, is an important aspect of any custom. IMHO. And if part of that grand custom involves haute couture like this, well then, it can't be all bad.
