Pooch Painting
To follow up my weekend painting extravaganza (follow us on Twitter to see pics), tonight, we are painting our dogs! Head over to our ABOUT US tab to view our fantastic pooch Teddy. Now we're not classically trained, but here's to hoping they come out something like:
Thanks to the Noisy Dog Studio for these gems. Ours to follow soon! Fingers Crossed!
And here it is for all ya'll dying of anticipation...not Picasso, but not all bad. IMHO (in my humble opinion).
These days; my life in a nutshell: a ship in a bottle.
[Insert Sail Away, Enya & any Metaphor you wish]
The fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, London, was originally intended to host an equestrian statue of William IV. Unfortunately for him, and luckily for the artists of Londinium, insufficient funds kept the podium empty for many years until 1999, when the Royal Society of Arts came up with the brilliant idea of the Fourth Plinth Project; a platform for artistic displays and uncommissioned public stunts. Amongst these, so far, a model of David Beckham by Madame Tussauds for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, a marble torso bust of Alison Lapper (an artist afflicted by phocomelia) in 2005, and in 2009 the “One and Another” where 2400 selected members of the public spent an hour each on the plinth, doing anything they wanted.
...and apparently, THIS is what they wanted...
Day trip.
So, we own this daybed from West Elm, and it's truly fabu. Functional, delicate, cozy, all things you want in a piece that's not quite a couch, not exactly a bed. Below are some voila worthy day beds to dream of:
Once again, thank you to Elle Decor for inspiring, yet attainable ideas...
Good enough to clean with:
Homemade Laundry Powder
(Makes approximately 5 cups)
2 cups (finely) grated castile soap
[Dr. Bronner's magic soap (for an elixer that's good enough to eat!)]
1 cup borax
1 cup baking soda
1 cup soda ash (washing soda)
Directions: Mix everything together, and store in an airtight jar. Depending on your water, you might need to adjust the sodas a bit, and the amount used per load. I use 1/8 cup per load. (You may need to give the jar a shake once in a while to prevent the soap flakes from settling to the bottom.) Compliments of SouleMama.
